The satellite television company that has some of the highest numbers of viewers in satellite television has raised the bar higher for satellite
companies and plan to continue on that path. The recent launch of a new satellite by Directv will enable the company to offer more HD channels now and in the
very near future for their customers.
In March the satellite television company launched a Boeing 702 model satellite from a Sea Launch Zenit-3SL rocket off
of an Odyssey Launch Platform and this will bring television viewers an added one hundred and fifty HD channels by the early fall, as early as
September.
The satellite that was launched in March was named Directv 11 and while this satellite has already been launched there is a second that will be
launched that will bring HD channels up to two hundred. This satellite is not ready to be launched yet but with viewers having the ability to watch one hundred and
fifty HD channels it will be worth the wait for the others.
While HD television is fairly new as time passes more and more people are craving to watch this
enhanced television with the crisp clear pictures and views that are not seen in regular television viewing. The reason as many people know already the reason that
HD television has such great views is due to the fact that a high definition television has more lines of resolution, in fact it has more than two times the lines of
resolution of a regular digital TV. However, it is also a different type of signal that is sent for a high definition program.
This type of television has taken a large
enough hold of the television viewing public that there are now separate HD boxes sold that can be hooked up to a regular television set to bring in the high
definition signal.
Now with Directv, Cable TV and Dish Network adding more HD stations to their packages and the new change in local broadcasting
channels that will need a decoder type of box purchased, many viewers will be taking a serious look at what satellite television can offer including the HD channel
line up. With these new advances in HD channels the look of TV is changing and will continue to change in the future with the next satellite that the company has
plans to put in place for more HD channels.
